A Glass Stramash is the blog of Moira and Katie Webster, mother and daughter, living in Caithness in the Far North of Scotland.
Moy is the real creative powerhouse of the team. She’s been working in stained glass for over ten years, primarily making highly intricate large-scale panels. These panels now fill all the windows through the family home (ideal for a drive-by nosy, if you’re in the neighbourhood), as well as the windows of various friends and relatives. With no windows left to fill, she’s now starting to explore the potential of alternative projects, sandblasting, and (as soon as funds allow) a kiln to dabble in painting and fusing.
Katie is the back-up support bod and chief spinner of words. A long-time dabbler in various arty mediums, it’s creative writing that she’s most caught up in these days. Her fiction tends to be dark and disturbing, her factual stuff tends to be… tangential.
This blog will often be random. It’s a way for us to organise and share our creative impulses, our thoughts, plans, work and aspirations.
